Any parts of LA to avoid?

My wife is Mexican and I am a Gringo and she has taken me to visit family in East LA. I would say avoid that for starters.Haha.

You can pretty much tell in most parts when you get in a sketchy area, but like someone said earlier Downtown LA has grown leaps and bounds in past few years.

Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm? I'm a huge Disney fan... I went to Disneyworld twice last year and Disneyland Paris... So would it be worth skipping Disney for Knott's Berry?

Noted! I've only flown into LA once and drove through it so I would rather not get lost in a bad part of the city.

East LA and South LA are the areas to avoid for the most part.

Honestly if you are a huge Disney fan go that route. Knotts is the Snoopy/Charlie Brown type theme. I just hate crowds and Knotts always seems to be less people and its more of a ride theme park I guess.

Disney is great but like people said the lines are always ridiculous. Plus way over priced, Knotts Berry has a lot more rides and is cheaper, so I guess it depends on what you want to go do there.

Yeah Disney it is. I'm not a huge fan of Snoopy/Charlie Brown. Maybe for my next trip I can squeeze in Knott's Berry. I've heard lots of great things about it.

This. I think it is still under $40 for the day. It is my preference over Disney, but like I said if you are a huge Disney fan, be tough to pass up Disneyland.

It was, the restaurant has a two star Michelin chef, rooms were very nice and big, great location in santa monica, LA, and the highways, you get free use of their beach cruisers to ride around as well.

Stay at the Standard on the strip

Go to Santa Monica Promenade

Venice Beach

Go to Manhattan Beach and eat at the restaurant called Beaches

Hermosa Beach and have breakfast.

Play on either beach.

Drive South to Laguna Beach and stay a day and a night - art galleries and Sawdust Festival may be going on. Newport Beach right near Laguna has Fashion Island which is fun to walk around and let the women shop and kids play.

If you have ever been to Disneyworld, Disneyland is such a disappointment. Small, cramped, bad people flow...
