Should have 4-5 cameras on every block in the quarter. Police need to step it up.

Yep, not even the kind that can be domesticated. That one whale is even laughing at one point when the camera is on her face

I sort of like the sting operation idea. Seriously.

Drunk undersized white guy stumbling alone around 2 am within a block or so of Rampart. Should net a few arrests.

I think it's a great idea until someone gets shot and killed then the police force would be hung…it's pretty risky but would most certainly work. and after a few felony attempted armed robbery charges and a few years in jail, these thugs would certainly think twice about robbing a random.

That was my point. People are acting like it's unreasonable to be out in New Orleans that late.

Second, if I'm in a city I don't know, I'm not wandering around at 4:30AM by myself.

Probably a good idea, but I've drunkenly stumbled around Madison Wisconsin several times (typically at night ) and never felt close to threatened.

I don't go to the FQ at night, it's a shitfest with nothing but tourists and thugs.

Party slows down once the sun comes up. many of the bars only close for a couple of hours to clean.

That's is definitely a comparable city demographic-wise.

No, our point is it is unreasonable of you to say New Orleans advertises being out at 4:30 in the morning drunk by yourself in a city you don't know.

What happened to not playing dumb?

it's hit or miss, left at midnight often...never know what to expect. Sometimes you walk outside and bourbon st. is a fricking ghost town. It's not always busy.

I didn't see that qualifier in your original post

I was just pointing out that there are cities that are safe to be out and about at all times, without having to be worried about being mugged.

I didn't think that would be necessary. Apologies for overestimating the crowd.

Yea, I'm sure I could go through most of the midwest at anytime I like, but there's not much point in saying that.

i wasn't talking about this specific guy, but thanks.

ETA: The guy I was responding to with that basically said NOLA advertises precisely what I said.

It's not hard to follow the logic:

-New Orleans advertises itself as one big party

-Bars are open unitl 4:30 AM or later

-The city should take measures to protect the touristy areas it advertises because people will be out at 4:30 regardless of how safe it is.
