Every progressive will tell you this driver is more likely to be killed by someone he lives with, not one of their foot soldiers.

A new legal precedent needs to be set. If someone attacks a public transit driver (bus, subway, etc.) while said vehicle is moving they should be hit with an attempted murder charge for every passenger on board. As awful as it is to say at least then they might wait until the mode of transportation is stopped and parked before assaulting the driver/conductor. I can't believe I'm typing this out. Can't even wrap my head around why someone would do something this stupid.

I think some of y'all way overestimate how much of a deterrent prison is to the criminal underclass. Many times, prison is better living conditions than life outside.

That’s definitely a factor. Chris Rock said it best: “if you’re from an old ghetto, a new jail ain’t that bad.”
A lot of these guys don’t have anything to lose.
