Do we though? Not on this scale.

A lot of these people seem to have little common sense or respect for nature.

Embers fly for miles. Just because some kid is melting down in a car in this instance while kids can sit blissfully unaware of the danger for a hurricane doesn't make the latter inherently worse than people waiting until the last second to evacuate before a hurricane.

Lol. I think I’ll take my chances with some wind and rain over an out of control raging fire.
and there’s your answer. Those cali people probably thought I’ll take my chances with some forest fire. What are the chances it actually hits MY neighborhood.

Not going to post videos, but there are loads of them out there…

So instead of trying to get out of there they are sitting in their cars, videoing their hysterical crying children, and posting those videos onto social media? On purpose?

I feel for the kids a little, but I think I’ll pass on feeling bad and giving attention to those assholes, thanks.

When you have kids, you need to be proactive. I would try to get my family out as soon as possible and settled in a safe place.

Unlike hurricanes where you have days and sometimes weeks of existential dread, wildfires give you hours and sometimes minutes. What if you’re asleep? Your phone is off?

That's why I use a fire watch roster in my household. I had to do the 2am to 3am watch last night.
