I think you're being generous with "a lot," but you still make a good point.

No one has backed themselves into shite. I'm a millennial and have an X-box. I'm not above rek'ing scrubs on FIFA. Everything in moderation.

The article in the OP discusses a phenomenon on an entirely different level. Both the kids (of adult age) and the parents suck.

I play video games all the time and have a job built around your dumbass being bad at technology. It's a win / win - stay dumb and I profit

it honestly sounds like this is the problem with the OP as well, jealously is a bitch

I wounder how much more jealous he would get:

You can, you absolutely can, but as that market becomes more saturated with games don't the odds start to resemble athletes aspiring to turn pro?

Wouldn't you be better off just doing it the way I described?

The day GTAV came out I had a work meeting til 11 or so and they gave us the day off. Picked the game up on my way to the meeting and played like a mofo all afternoon.

CRUCIAL

Also bought it again for the XB1 when we got home with NillaWafer and I was off for 2 weeks. Played it while MrsWafer (no pics) and NW slept during the day.

of course, what's crazy to me is we are seeing the 4th generation of Youtuber now hitting the scene. This is actually the first generation that could have "aspired" to be a Youtuber and that's pretty crazy / frightening.

The Market will get extremely saturated just like anything else - but I feel it's still easier to make it on platforms like Twitch as a gamer than say a "pro athlete" - because as these platforms get bigger - the esports arena has also gotten bigger, so you actually have video game "athletes" and then the joe-shmos who talk to their audience every day while playing video games.

I guess so, because it sure as hell doesn't take any real talent to play video games.

Being good at them absolutely takes real talent. You may not care about the kind of talent it takes though.

Also, correlation is not causation. I know plenty of folks who work good, full-time jobs that play video games.

Thank you. I'm one of them.

Maybe the young men can't find jobs? Because the fricking job market sucks. I've been searching for a job for a few months and no luck. I am an CPA

The military is a good outlet for them. They can sit behind a video screen in Virginia and fly drones around the world.

Not really. I is all dependent upon whether or not you are willing to relocate. Atlanta's job market is booming, so is Houston's.

most people are... Millennials get a bad wrap because we are the first Generation to be "fully online" which means, our lives are made WAAAAY more public than any of the generations before us. At the end of the day, Millennials are just as likely to do anything as the generations before them... but because we are in an "instant" world, it becomes news every single time.

There are millions upon millions upon millions of "Millennials" - but because 150 of them stay at home and play video games instead of going to college or getting a job - "Millennials are just lazy and stupid"

I call it the "look at me" generation. I have cousins in their 20s that are more worried about recording music on facebook than working. Its the selfie generation.
