Pool water going overboard is hazardous spill and it is treated as such. It is reported and forms filled out l. And no I’m not kidding.

Obviously you're not just floating around the Caribbean. For me the appeal is you get a small dose of multiple cultures in one trip vs having to take multiple trips plus flights to the Caribbean can make the trip cost prohibitive. I love the fact that you get essentially a new adventure every day.

I haven't been on a cruise ship in almost 20 years but I have thoroughly enjoyed my previous cruise experiences. In my opinion the general degradation of society and the massive size of the newer ships they have lost their luster since my last cruise. I'm going on an Alaska Cruise in a couple of weeks so maybe my opinions may change base on my experience.

As you said to each their own . . .
