It’s truly amazing how accurate it is. I’m one of the few in my family that can swim and I didn’t learn until I was 26.
My wife, mom, sister, cousins, grandparents etc can’t. My dad can swim, but he served in the Navy.

I disagree. If you can't swim over stagnant water, then you definitely shouldn't even exist as an individual, barring legitimate physical impediments such as an infirmity of the physique. Hell, most newborn infants know how to swim. It's more natural than walking

Because not knowing how to swim is an intellectual disability, not a physical one.
If someone couldn't figure out breathing but was equipped with all the tools, I wouldn't act like they were a victim of fortune- rather, just an imbecile

I can pretty much guarantee you that you think numerous LSU football players shouldn't exist then if you think those that can't swim over stagnant water shouldn't exist.
I've seen some great athletes that could do amazing things on the field, but didn't know how to swim. A lot of black people don't know how to swim because their parents/family never learned to swim and no one ever taught them for whatever reason. If it was as natural as you think to everyone, people wouldn't spend so much on swimming lessons.

People sign their young children up for swimming lessons because swimming is fun, not because they don't want them to drown, btw

Nothing. My point was that if you don't learn how to do something, the odds are you won't be able to do it or excel at it even if you have certain physical attributes that might make you good at it if you learn how to do it.

Yeah, that's why 90% of kids at swimming lessons sound like someone is trying to murder them when the lessons start. Fun for everyone.

I've taught swim lessons to youngsters in the neighborhood and surrounding area for years. Very few children don't know how to swim. They just want to have the opportunity to get in a pool and swim.

6 people drowned off of a sandbar on the Red River 10 years ago, none of them could swim.

This posters comment is mostly accurate except he should have said many black and not just black people. A lot of black kids live in communities where they didn’t have opportunities to swim or to learn. Not their fault.
BTW the down votes you are receiving ManBear are not from black posters.

I didn't know how to swim until about the 6th or 7th grade. I remember how terrifying getting in over my head was. It is odd thinking about it after you learn. I was even a fat kid so very buoyant. Muscular/skinny people aren't.
