It says in the article that the charges were dismissed? Why are all y'all saying he's going to prison?

I believe he had pending battery charges dropped from another fight and then this incident happened but I’m still not entirely sure. It’s such a poorly written story and not a surprise that the advocate is involved

The article was written horribly. He had previous charges from March dismissed after completing pre-trial diversion.

Im so fricking lost.

The charges were pending since March, but then the article makes it sound like the fight happened celebrating the win this weekend?

Ole Ramon Antonio Vargas strikes again. Dude can't write for shite. Had to read that article 3 times to figure out how the charges got dropped on Friday before the fight on Sunday.

Different charges. He ha da prior incident from March that had the charges dismissed this past Friday.

He celebrated that victory by getting new charges Sunday.

Rhett Weidenbacher was having a good weekend.

On Friday, prosecutors dropped second-degree battery charges that had been pending against him since March. That night he caught the pass for Holy Cross' football team that clinched a historic victory against Archbishop Rummel. And a few hours later, he turned 18.

Then things went off the rails. Out celebrating on Bourbon Street after midnight Sunday, Weidenbacher was jailed for allegedly knocking out a man who had used a racial epithet. The fight was captured on cellphone footage.

How is it confusing honestly?

It says he was having a good weekend because the charges were dropped and he caught the game winner.

Then it says the weekend went south because he got arrested due to the fight.

You’re kinda like the boards retarded little brother so it’s not surprising you don’t see the confusion with that article

Are people really calling that a "sucker punch"?

Let me start by saying I would never be trashy enough to fight on bourbon

However, if you find yourself in fight with multiple people on bourbon street, there are no rules or sucker punches. The only thing to remember is do whatever it takes.

This isnt some gentlemanly fight where you square off with your partner. There were multiple drunk asses fighting in the middle of the street. Once it gets to this point you are there to knock the other side out, not worry about if TD posters think you fought fair

The article should lead with whatever his previous charge situation was, explain that the charges were dropped, and now he’s in trouble for this fight.

The whole night was going good and scored a winning TD is not needed. It’s news not story time
