It's a wonder this guy is alive....

WOODBURY, Minn. (KMSP) - Dashcam video captured a motorcycle rider taking a terrifying tumble after hitting an unsecured load that fell from a boat being towed on Interstate 94 in Woodbury, Minnesota.

20-year-old Brendan Jankowski of Hudson, Wis. was heading home on June 18 when the floating foam pad, which was attached to the back of a boat being towed, dropped to the pavement unexpectedly

Come on, Darth, you're better than this...

WOODBURY, Minn. - It's amazing he survived. That's the impression many will have after watching a dashcam video of a motorcyclist hitting a large floating water mat that fell off the back of a boat being pulled down I-94 in Woodbury on June 18. Brendan Jankowski was the man at the handlebars of that motorcycle, a 2015 Yamaha he had just purchased for his 20th birthday two weeks prior to the crash.

quote:

Jankowski was wearing a helmet and motorcycle jacket when the object fell of the back of the boat. He says he just bought the jacket within an hour of the crash, and was saving up for the pants and gloves.

A family friend did that when the car in front of him dropped its muffler. I always imagined it would look exactly like that.

That was a lot less exciting than I was expecting. Glad he's ok.

From the video, I'm not sure how he couldn't avoid that. It looked like he had plenty of time to swerve.

Looks like he was trying to hit it. All he had to do was hug the left side of the lane and he would have cleared it fine.

I probably would be dead.

Yep, rookie mistake. He sees the boat in front of him. An experienced rider knows you never get close to a boat being towed down the road because it's all to common for things to fly up out of them. Add in the fact he should have seen the giant foam pad bungeed to the boat and known to never get close.

Notice all the room he had in the middle lane? He should have been there all along.

A bar customer asked the bartender if he wanted to hear a Polack joke. The bartender pointed to a large man at the end of the bar and said, "He's Polish." Then the bartender pointed to a burly policeman near the door and repeated, "He's Polish." The bartender finished, "Now think about whether you want to tell that joke, because I'm Polish, too." The customer replied, "I guess I won't tell that joke after all. I'd have to explain it three times."
