Be a man. Say it’s not really a problem but don’t use such a straw man

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say super violent and realistic video games desensitize kids to violence and death. And can also act as an avenue for mentally fricked up people to act out/practice their violent fantasies.

However, video games aren’t the cause. Bad parenting is the cause.

ETA:

People are going to downvote this because, ironically, they will react too quickly and they won’t make it to my last sentence

I'd like to have this guy explain what the reason was pre-video games.

Action should not be taken immediately after a tragedy like this. Government policy does not need to be created based solely on an emotional response.

It's on Fox News so it has to be true.

the politicians in this country are lazy and ignorant with all their reactionary, emotional, quick fix regulations and laws they suggest after these horrific incidents. It’s disgusting really, them inserting themselves in the media as some type of saviors

I know of people who say the same. Though they also said music and video games caused Columbine.

When a dude's gettin' bullied and shoots up his school
And they blame it on Marilyn (On Marilyn) and the heroin
Where were the parents at? And look where it's at!
Middle America, now it's a tragedy
Now it's so sad to see, an upper-class city

Bad parenting caused Columbine.

Just like almost all these other shootings.

Not necessarily video games, but kids, adults for that matter, that spend 8-9 hours a day on video games, facebook, twitter, and scrolling the internet on their phones are a large part of the problem in today’s society

as someone who has played these types of games and has seen some gruesome things in person, I can tell you right now this is a stretch.

For the average person violent video games do not have an affect.

However, if somebody has mental health issues such as early onset schizophrenia, these games could absolutely play a part in their actions.

Eric Harris being a sociopath caused Columbine. Sometimes things just happen.

Parents missed a ton of shite with this kid that could’ve prevented a massacre on this scale.
