Vet recommendations in Baton Rouge

I live in Southdowns so I was leaning towards the garden district place off perkins after the overpass.
I was also told to use the highland and kenilworth vet.
What is a good one that is priced reasonable and trushworthy?

Associated Vets on Greenwell Springs. You will thank me later.

Yep, although they have gone up in recent years they are still the best deal in town

Adrian Bergeron at Highland Road Animal Hospital is a great vet but they aren't the cheapest.

Good people. They are our general vet.

Left these folks to use Garden District. They were fine before the expansion, but quality of service in my opinion took a dive afterwards and the price went up.
Check out S. Sherwood Animal Hospital as well. I live in Southdowns and it can be a hike, but the service and facilities are top notch. We recently had a more major event with my dog than Garden District could handle in house and they coordinated the care with Sherwood. Very happy with the level of care.

AVS on Greenwell Springs isn't what it was 10 or so years ago. Is the care still affordable, absolutely. But, the quality of the vet technicians and the insufferable waiting room area is too much to deal with.

Garden District Vet is ok... Kind of middle of the road service and pricing. The clinic is outdated but I never had any major problems. That being said, I switched vets this year.

You c u n t be serious. I take my dogs there all the time. Recently brought my husky there last fall to have leg amputated. Had absolutely no problem during the initial visit and the time when I brought him back for the procedure.
I'm sure they are busy like any other vet on Monday morning but really the wait is normally less than 10 minutes if that.

And this conversation is over. I don't engage in discussion with trash.

If you are willing to drive, cypress lakes in prairieville is amazing. That's where my dog goes.

Agreed. Great vet....my roommate and I both take pets there and they are great, but definitely not the easiest on the wallet. If you can afford it take the dog there.

I like Helouins a good bit.

We use Siegen Lane Animal Clinic and really like Dr. Waguespack but some people find him to be too dry. I like that he just tells me how it is and doesn't try and talk me to death.
We also had to take our dog to Sherwood Animal Hospital when our dog nearly died and they were amazing. I would use them full time but they are expensive and the vets we liked only work there part time in the hospital. We will be boarding our dog there now since the boarding facility is attached. That means if she has another attack (she has Addisons) then we don't have to worry about them getting her to the vet since it is right there.
We used to board her at Camp Bow Wow but last time we were on a cruise and our dog had her first attack from Addisons. In their defense they had no idea what was going on because she was not diagnosed and we were on a cruise so they couldn't get us on the phone. However, they have emergency contact information and our vet information and they just let her stay there sick for 4 days after they initially noticed something was wrong. When we picked her up we couldn't believe how bad she looked and had to take her to the hospital right away. She nearly died. I will never take her back after they did that to her, a dying dog being forced into the play area all day.
Anyway, I just feel better knowing she will be at the place that took such good care of her when she was sick and that they can easily transfer her to the hospital if need be. She wont have as much fun as at Bow Wow, though.
