Have been informed I have colon cancer and must begin treatment immediately including surgery.
A very dear friend of mine had that. My advice to you is don't frick around local, and don't delay making an appt. at M.D. Anderson's or a similar cancer treatment hospital.

Man frick frick frick cancer
That being said, and others have touched on it too, your mindset is very important during your process... You have to stay positive and never ever think that you can't beat this.
Stand up to cancer. Be an example to others that survival is the only option. Just stand up to it, that's all, and don't give way under it, and it will finally break. You will break it. Something has to break, and it won't be you, it will be cancer.
Remember, even when winning's illogical
Losing's still far from optional

If you are not in shape & healthy... Start getting in shape. The treatments will take a toll on your body. 50 % of it is mental.. the other 90% is physical.. I beat it twice, & my Peter still works. Prayers sent towards you & God Bless you...

sorry to hear
did you bother to get a second opinion?
Dr. Lorraine Day beat breast cancer by changing her diet and eating fresh foods, nothing packaged.
i'm an iconoclast...;
a person who opposes some beliefs and practices that are widely accepted

well, it's in line with Hippocrates, the father of medicine, who said
"let medicine, be thy food, and let food, be thy medicine"
eh?!

Diet is a big part of the equation
I believe it is a powerful complement to standard medical therapy. Unfortunately, most physicians have a very arrogant, dismissive attitude about diet (mainly out of their own ignorance on the topic)
See the paper I linked earlier in the thread on the usefulness of a ketogenic diet
There is also good data on the benefits of fasting / intermittent fasting

My boyfriend is in remission. He was diagnosed at 25, had 60% of liver removed, 3' of colon and a section of small intestine. He is 30 now, and was diagnosed with stage 4. He is happy and healthy. He will always have some discomfort because of the lack of plumbing, but he manages.
I know what you have just found out is scary as shite, but remain positive, it really helps to have a good attitude. Good luck and keep us posted!
