I'm pretty sure Fontana wants to shut it down at some point. And he would have the votes to do so, in his current situation. Cant be mad that she tried to halt that before the ball got rolling, because she knows if it gets to a vote she can't stop it.

IIRC, the school board is upside down on their health insurance, and is partially self-funded. At one time, they were in the hole about $1 million. They estimated that they could save about $950 thousand by closing Gueydan HS, and hinted that they might do it, giving little thought to what that would do to that little town. There is no other HS there.

Isn't the VPSB feeling the pain from the oil field? I know there was a point, when they oil field was doing really well that teachers would often get 2 bonus checks each year. One at mid term and one at the end of the school year. Not small checks either.

Probably but you shouldn't count on money that can easily fluctuate. And why does the superintendent get a raise when teachers aren't? Read something about no raise for 12 years --- wonder if that's right?? (Was a comment somewhere on a video)

Kaplan is about 30 minutes away. Actually Midland HS might be closer...differenr parish though.

I seriously doubt he gets fired. I don't think he acted beyond his duty. He probably just could have handled it in a better way, which would have resulted in a better ending.
They would need the video to show the entire encounter. And he is really a good dude, so I highly highly doubt he just got the teacher out the door and tossed onto the ground.

15 miles, about 15 minutes driving the speed limit. I make the drive often.
