When the hell did it get to be too much trouble to close a hatchback or sliding door by hand?

No clue bro. I’ve been used to them since grandfather gave me my first Lambo for HS graduation.

My short arse wife enjoys the fact that our Suburbans rear hatch opens and closes itself..
Seriously though, this is a dumb thing to complain about.

It’s nice when you have to get a lot of shite out the care and spare yourself a trip just to close the door.

My chauffeur automatically opens and closes the doors on my vehicles.

I hate the power windows that default to going all the way down. I'll decide how far I want the windows down, MFer.

It help differentiate the OT-baller wives from the OT-Poors.
Seriously though, it is a convenient feature that I thought was a waste until I used it on the wifes Q60. Driver assist package is another one that I like a lot more than I thought I would, while intelligent cruise control which I thought would be awesome, almost never gets used.

My Rolls Royce Phantom has buttons that you can press to close the doors of the car too.

Do you mean QX60? I'm not aware of a Q60 having power operated doors/trunk.

I like it for my minivan

Yep, QX60. Entertainment package was a waste until we hooked a game system up to it.

Not a fan.
Worst feature ever though is Auto Stop/Start. At least most of them have a button to disable.
Best feature (other than ABS): Active Cruise Control.

We got the minivan because we got a bunch of kids and I will tell u the automatic doors are awesome mainly bc u can open/close the sliding doors and rear from the front seat. Kids never remember to shut the door when they are loading up so it’s a nice feature to close from the front instead of having to get out and walk around the vehicle.

When you just unloaded several grocery bags and all you can manage is to stick a finger out, greatest invention every. Wish the power sliding doors had been available available when my kids were little cant imagine how much easier it would have made unloading them.

Im just here to say I enjoy when my rental car has just the fob.
Nothing better than not having to dig your keys out your pocket.
Unfortunately, I'm not an OT baller and my cars are so old they never offered this feature.

It's called convenience. Something doesn't have to be "too difficult" in order for a feature to be added.

Yeah, walking up to your car, hearing the door unlock as you reach for it, sitting down, and pushing the start button is fricking sweet.

99% of the time, it would be easier and quicker to just close the door by hand.
You know what else would be a convenience - a device that shovels food into your mouth automatically so you don't have to go through the ordeal of lifting a fork.
