Is that your bed in front of the kits stacked up?
No. It’s for my wife’s little dog. She like to come lay in it when I’m in there.

When you do your wear/tear/weathering, do you study any old photos or do you just put your own educated spin on it? I know a couple of model railroad dudes and they model for a certain period and put a lot of research into studying old photos (for weathering purposes).
I study actual photos of my subject, which isn’t always easy as most are black & white.

Your stuff looks great by the way.
Thanks!

Thanks. I usually post a link to the Wiki page for those who want to read more. I just realized I forgot to link it. My bad.

I generally don’t do post-WWII kits.

This is as close as I’ve come…

I used to build models when I was a kid. Your talent is amazing. I really look forward to your posts, and my son does as well. You do a fantastic job!! Keep up the fantastic work!!

Nicely painted.
What do you think of the “new” prop planes that have been seeing some use across the world as light attack aircraft, like the Super Tucano?
Also…do you do much from the Italians? They definitely were the worst of the Axis as far as doing anything you heard about.

Thank you! It’s because of posts like this that I make these threads. I’m glad you son enjoys them as well.

I’ve not studied them much, but from what I can tell low-cost attack planes can be quite effective. Even the US operated the OV-10 Bronco up to the mid-90s.

You’re right about the Italians being the worst. But I do enjoy building their stuff. Here’s my Italian builds.

Nice job as always Vader. Good work. That much glass on the nose always freaks me out. One reason I've not touched my Revell B25. Lots of glass.I finished the Tamiya Hummel late production a couple weeks ago and then just the other day I actually finished the Tamiya Ford Gt. Fun car and I hardly ever do cars. The Hummel was a great fun build though.

Outstanding work! Here’s my Tamiya Hummel.
I also built the Tamiya Wespe.
I have another Wespe in my stash. I’ll eventually get around to it.
As for that Revell B-25, it’s a challenge. The fit is not very good. Also, it’s very much tail heavy so you either have to load up the nose section with weight, fishing split-shot is good for this, or use the crew ladder as a sort of prop to keep the tail up. Here’s the one I built several years ago…
Airfix makes a 1/72 scale that’s far better than the Revell kit. I think you can order it from Amazon. Here’s the one I did.

Great info, thanks for the tip about that kit being tail heavy. I had built a few armor in a row so I wanted a little break and to do something different. Thats why I ended up doing the Ford GT. So I'm still kind of feeling like I want to do something different after finishing the Ford so I've opened and started the revell UH 1D Huey gunship. Wow. The flash and the cleanup needed is mind numbing. I kind of expected it to need some clean up but man its really bad. The fit will be a challenge. Probably going to spend more time cleaning up parts and sanding then the actual paint and build. Have you ever built this kit?

Yes, you know one you just grab from hobby lobby because you have built everything else there. Lol. But the box art is great

To be honest, I personally have never built this kit. However, my son did when he was about 11-12 years old. I helped him some, mostly with advice. From what I remember (this was about 10 years ago) it’s an even worse kit than Revell’s B-25. The fit was atrocious and the need to trim parts was endless. Seeing what he had to do on it convinced me it’s not one I want to bother with.

Yea, its killing me. I'm going to finish it. The positive its a small parts count but literally 95% of the parts require clean up. Im going to complete it just because I've started it but not to confident in the outcome. Whats your next build?
