my fav of all you have shared - 1 of my fav planes ever

Thanks! Glad you like it. It was a relatively quick build. I had a total of four days in it, so roughly 32-34 hours give or take.
I am extremely envious of your build times and ability to just get kits built. On a current project I probably spent over 34 hours alone just reshaping the wings and engine hush kits to try and exactly match a 707-131.
I have three planes currently in progress stuck in various states of building, filling, sanding, research, etc. I often wonder in the end of all the extra work is worth it when absolutely no one who looks at it, other than myself, will know.

Cool boat. What engines do you have in it?

Back in 1982, in my 20’s, one of my Monroe cousins brought me to meet a friend at the airport.
He worked at one of the hangars at the time.
We go into the hangar and sitting in middle is this magnificent P-40. It was painted similar to yours, but not exactly.
The name on the tail was “Holding My Own” with a cartoon image of what looked like a Mexican farmer peeing on something. I heard later that the plane was sold to another collector in California.

Yep. Cowboy urinating on Japan’s Rising Sun.

I haven't been to the USS Kidd museum in a couple of decades. Do they still have the P-40 hanging up in that outdoor pavilion area?

Great build! You discussing build times in days is almost ridiculous in my mind. My builds are usually in years+. Curious, what's your technique to get those panel lines marked so well?
I use Tamiya Panel Accent and a steady hand. Before I apply it though I’ll dab the applicator onto a paper towel so it doesn’t have so much on it.

Looks great. I had the same model when I was a kid so this brings back memories.

Yes, they do.

Yeh, I'd have to hire one of those hands. I've tried washes with varying results. Varying from fair to crap.
