who created the word?
did black people steal something from the white man again?

Do black people use the term In a derogatory way?
So it is the intent that is wrong?
What if someone uses a less offensive word, but has the same feelings toward them. I guess soon it will not be enough to refrain from offensive words, if I have ill will towards someone of another race or a particular race, then I will be in trouble.

quote:that's what it all boils down to. It's a double standard that you have just have to deal with. Why any white person would want to say the word is beyond me. It makes you look trashy as hell. That's why I think a lot of the whining isn't due to the fact that they want to say it. They just want to be pain in the arse and play the GOTCHA card with blacks.

Didn't read all of the 10 pages I'm just here to find out if I'm allowed to say the N word if it's in a song. If not it may limit my karaoke selection.

If one of your 'podnas' said that to you and you were cool with it, then I said it to you and you had a problem with it, that's on you...
The victim mentality for black people is so played out and useless.. You guys are the only ones holding yall back, not the white people..
Consider yourselves lucky, anytime there is a racial situation, you have jesse and al come to the rescue and raise hell, but when white people are actually the victims of a race related incident, CRICKETS..... If you don't see a problem with that then I don't know what to tell you
But none of this matters because I'd say it to your face and you wouldn't do anything about it
But I wouldn't because I'm not trashy and wouldn't stoop to your level

Yea, black folks have it so well to be black, so much better than white folks, we're so unlucky to be white!

How are white people holding black people back?
How much media time does black on white crime get?

9 pages of white grown men bitching about how unfair life is because they cannot say the n word? Some white people find any reason to play victim.
I've never even mentioned not being able to say the N-word. Godnot kinda hijacked the thread and turned it into a "white privilege" thing which is what brought us here.
Im going to assume by the statements you made that you are African-American and are ok with other African-Americans using this word. Personally I find it sad that any race would encourage the use of a racist slang term - Ive never heard Mexicans calling each other spics or Chinese Chinks? But that's just me. As a kid we used the term once the whole rap culture made it main stream but it was always more aimed at someone's behavior rather than race, akin to white-trash if you will.
And as far as saying some white people will find any excuse to play victim - seriously? Not saying you do this but there isn't a race that cliaims victimhood status more that African Americans.

They say it but are to pussy to say it in my presence.
Or maybe they dont and just have a sense of decency and respect for themselves that seems to allude most young black kids today?

We are on a board that is probably 95% white, so what's your point?

Eta: I don't disagree with you that blacks tend to play the victim a lot

I never said that black people have it easier than white people, they don't because they make it harder on themselves
there are some exceptions and I would say that I know A TON of self-made, well respected black guys who have made a good living for themselves and for their families by hard work and determination... Why didn't white people hold them back??

I don't see how this one example of people venting their frustrations on ONE message board speaks for the whole population... Stop dodging the main points of what I'm saying and tell me how I'm wrong

You can't really be that naive.
