I bought my 8 yo son a Marucci posey 28 youth because of the size. My son is small for his age and needs a lighter bat. I chose the posey 28 26/16.

After I bought it I found out it was rated for coach pitch. Should I worry about it denting in 9u live pitch?

Tell Jaxynn to hang it up. No way he'll be pro with that.

Only if the pitchers he's going against have already had Tommy John surgery

If Braxxtyn isn’t using at least a 34 by age 7 you can forget all about him lacing up for the Braves in 20 years.

Is your son going to be swinging it at poles?

No 9 year old in the country is going to dent it from a batted ball. Hell, there aren't many people in the world that can throw/swing hard enough for it to dent.

ETA - With proper care you should have no problems.

If he’s a small kid then that size isn’t too small but you should at least get him a 28/18.

Me including many people i know have returned numerous bats the past few years due to denting.

Bats aren’t made like the used to be.

That’s a lot of technical jargon for a kids bat.

They're all gonna dent. It's a new thing i guess. My 11 year old dented same bat in a 29. its the shape of a triangle now.

I should have been more clear. Denting it in the course of regular, proper game play is very difficult to do at any age in the course of a season or two.

ETA - shite, if bats are denting like some of you are claiming, their either not made the same way they were a decade ago or your kids are mildly retarded.

Not really. They all dent and crack at some point. Some sooner than others.

If he isn’t using a -5 at this age, it’s time to tell him to stick to golf.

Ha. If he’s not 6’ yet, no shot at the big show or college scholly. Money would be better spent on a soccer ball or some sci-fi books.

It's not going to dent but this may increase the "trampoline effect" of the ball coming off of the bat and will give him a better chance of going yard.
