Yeah, when I get called a Libertarian I feel a need to correct. Not because I am not one, but probably because I don't want to be seen as the wacko type.

Explains why the Libertarian Party has never amounted to anything. They always think they are the smartest people in the room and no one wants to associate with them after that.

and never will. it's a party for college freshmen, hermits, and faux-intellectual misfits.

I'm a registered libertarian, but the anarcho-state people really don't appeal to me either.

A sacred building that houses a body that sells their citizens out to foreign countries and makes new criminals daily? Oh, how noble.

Let me ask you a serious question because I’m inferring that you are a little slow. What does the body that is housed have to do with the building itself that also plays museum? What was the point of destroying ancient Chinese scrolls or stealing declarations from the 1800s? I’d rather them loot a Target over actually literally destroying the history that they often claim Democrats destroy.

The people that inhabit that building are mostly corrupt assholes that could not be more disconnected from us common schmoes if they tried, so please do not call that place sacred

I don’t get your vitriol towards libertarians. It’s one thing to not agree with them but you take it to another level. Geez

There are people running around believing in the Republican and Democrat party, not sure how anything can be worse.

I do respect libertarian tenets but I have the same reservations with I do with any other -Ism. Unadulterated ideology is never a solution or governing philosophy. Most hardcore Libertarians I know are uniformly good people but formulaic in their beliefs. Not every problem in the world is some equation. All that said I am a big fan of Rand Paul and wish we had more of him.

sure, but the ideology is based on some of the musings of the best philosophers of the Enlightenment and I think there should be a place for the school of thought that a governments primary focus should be to be optimally small and be able to protect our natural rights in modern discourse

Unemployment couldn't be worse than it has been with Trump's disastrous handling of the pandemic. ( which you don't believe in, I bet.)

Holy shite! I haven't said shite in this crazy thread, but are you fricking serious? When you stratify states with the highest pandemic unemployment, you don't see a trend? Trump is a moron, but has absolutely no control over which governors have ruled like tyrants over this pandemic, creating massive unemployment and loss of small business entities.

Those morons on the election board will bitch and moan about Abbot allowing local leaders to mandate masks, but he has absolutely saved the states economy by refusing the lockdowns and business closures that local leaders are begging for. Most of us in TX are still allowed to work, thank God. You lose every ounce of credibility you think you had by blaming unemployment on Trump instead of those state leaders who actually wield that power. What a dumbass statement that was. These "protestors" aren't any better than the summer ones, but you're still a disingenuous idiot to blame state unemployment on him.

Why does a museum magically turn a building into hallowed ground?

Correct. Libertarian and libertarianism are two different things, mainly due to the various types of libertarians out there, and none of them agree.

Big L and small l stuff.
