It has also been mentioned that the cop smelled weed when he got there. Isn't the smell of weed probable cause for the cop?
"Sir, I can smell marijuana in this apartment."
"That's pizza, Hungry Howie's."
"STOP RESISTING!"

You also hear someone say "Caroline shut up" at some point in the video.

To be fair, they can make probable cause out of anything any time they please. Read every single DWI report ever, and they all say that they smelled alcohol. Happened to 7 of around 10 people leaving a party at a bar in BR that BRPD was trying to strong-arm into getting extra off duty details. Not a single one of them had a thing to drink because they knew the cops were watching the place
I rode with a buddy that got taken to the DWI bus that night. Once again the cop said he wreaked of alcohol (it was me), was swerving, and slurring his speech. He had one beer, and I was shitfaced. Cop cuffed him, and told me to drive home. Of course I thought it was a trick, but he ended up getting aggravated and told me to GTFO or he would tow the car. After my buddy passed the breathalyzer, the cop called me and tried to get me to come pick him up. I might be dumb, but I'm not that dumb. Cop ended up having to bring my buddy back to my house extremely mad because I wouldn't come pick him up. Citizens won that day

Anyone who thinks when a cop is "helping" you when they ask/say anything to you is incredibly naive. I tell my kids all the time to never talk to an officer without me present, and to avoid them at all costs. They are not your friends, they aren't there to help you, and they are not looking out for your interests.

These types of videos should never be shocking to anyone. We give power and weapons to statistically very low IQ individuals. Dumb people will do dumb shite, shocking I know. That is why the best thing you can do is to comply and fight your battle in court where the higher IQ individuals are.

Average IQ of professions

Norman please tell me what I said that is not fact based? You don't actually think police officers are highly intelligent individuals right? Maybe an FBI agent or something along those lines but not your average deputy.

The problem is our generation was raised that police officers were the good guys so talking to them was okay. Combine that with the economic downturn in 2008 which slashed municipal budgets and that the same time the rise in cell phone video capabilities...you've got things like this playing out all over the place now.

Sadly, this is the right thing to do these days. Cops have lost confidence from the general public because a majority of them are stupid, power hungry, and have a pack-mentality.
They don't respect the constitution at all.
This won't change unless we increase the standards for law enforcement officers and put HD body cameras on 100% of them and 360 degree HD cameras on their cars.
They currently have no accountability and their word will always be taken over a civilian's in court.

Unfortunately, I've had many dealings with cops while being drunk, so I know all of the tricks. I've bean beaten, sprayed, and even met a few nice guys.
That situation actually happened to a buddy of mine in HS. He was at home drunk, a friend got pulled over for DWI and the cop told him to come pick him up or he was going to jail. He lived in a neighborhood across the street, and was a good friend, so he went to pick him up. They both ended up in the slammer that night.
Play it cool, be smart, de-escalate the situation until the cop calms down, waste time until a supervisor is there, and you usually end up going home if it isn't a serious charge.
Then you have cops like this that are on a power trip and you can't do anything about it. Once his buddies showed up, he took it to the next level. All they saw was him fighting with someone and went there too. They should've stalled until a supervisor got there

The only things you should say are "Am i being detained?" or "Lawyer" if you think there is any chance of charges being pressed.
