Will you be keeping one of the pups? How many are left that still need homes?

After JoeBob and Kells get theirs, there’ll be 2 left.

Unfortunately, I am unable to keep one of them. I have a lab and a baby, work, and school full time. I wouldn’t be able to give it the attention it requires at the moment.

Geauxxx,

Were you able to have her tested for parvo yet? Just wanted to check in and see if any of them tested positive yet.

I think so. She told me that the Vet instructed them to put it down.

I’m guessing he told them the cost of treating her and they decided to put her down. It really sucks.

We’re going to take the one KellsBells claimed to the Vet today and have her tested. She’s so awesome that she said even if she has parvo, and there’s any shot at treating her; she still wants her.

Really hard to treat it in puppies that haven't had any shots.

Its almost always lethal and very miserable for the dog. Had a friend lose a puppy in college from it and my roommate's 6 moth old chocolate lab, who had the shots, was in the vet hospital for a week on IVs to survive it (he's doing great 10 years later though).

We are hoping for the best. I’ll update everyone when the vet calls me. If she has parvo, we are going to ask them to do everything they can to treat her. Her name is Roxanne.

It’s pretty expensive to treat parvo. It’s also very easily spread and can take up to 2 weeks to show up in testing so make sure the others are aware of this as it’s most likely spread through the litter.

Reason I know this is I got a rescue from a pound in North LA and it started showing signs just 2 days after getting her. They put her down and all of her litter mates and refunded my money.

ETA. Vet there told me approx $2k to start treatment. Wasn’t dropping that on a dog I spent 75 on and had 3 days.
