His poor impulse control originally came to our attention when we found out about him in the bar with the two southerners. He verbally attacked, unprovoked, but wisely realized they were not 100 lb. women. If he had escalated the encounter, he would have developed a few leaks, and a limp.

This serial killer thing is absurd. Serial killers don’t date their victims for several years then go on months-long cross country trips with them. That’s a pretty good way to guarantee you don’t get to become a serial killer.
Serial killers kill strangers. That’s why it’s so hard to catch them, they typically have no connection to their victims. There’s nothing we know about Brian to suggest he has even the slightest psychopathy of a serial killer. It’s infinitely more likely it was just an act of passion and he lost control and snapped and killed her. If he was a budding serial killer and hated her so much, that she flipped that switch inside him to start killing, he would have sought out strangers, girls that looked like Gabby to kill as proxies. Take out his hate of her on them. Serial killers are serial killers because they either like or have a compulsion to kill. It fulfills them in some sick way, gets them off. So they want to continue doing it. Killing your fiancé on a van life trip where you’re documenting the whole thing by uploading videos to social media, is a pretty terrible strategy to stay free to continue killing.
