We have no idea what he said to his parents if he did see them.
Some individuals don’t want there parents involved in their relationships and when asked about it, make it known that they won’t be telling their parents what’s going on and to drop it. He could have did this and they just let it go out of fear of pissing the son off. I’ve seen this happen.
