Erotic asphyxiation, I wonder if he claims it was an accident and freaked out….. I know that didn’t happen here, but with our legal system, uhhhh….

He wasn't a suspect and the police didn't have a warrant out for his arrest so what is the crime? He was no different than you or me so based on what we currently know what crime did his parents commit?

They were all hoping that it would not be found or animals and decomposition would so damage the body that cause of death could never be determined.
The Bethune tip last night aided in this search tremendously

Wow. They found her body quicker than I thought.
We all sort of knew this would be the end result. My prayers go out to her family if it indeed is Gabby.

I wonder if they found her where that guy was digging by the van.

Brian is still missing right?
I read that as "Brain" and it made complete sense given half the comments in this thread.

But seriously, I dunno how people get affected by this shite. Much worse happening out there ona daily basis and covered and not covered by the media.
Exactly.
It's like a novel playing out. If one doesn't know the characters why get emotional about it.

I imagine their intent to keep him from officially being a suspect was lawyering up and not talking to the police. Without a body or without any story of what happened (since he’s not talking), they’re a bit stuck.
It’s the same shite we’ve seen here in Bardstown with Crystal Rogers. Brooks Houck didn’t get named an actual suspect until some time later because of lack of evidence at that point.
It’s all going to depend on the communications with his family and what they know, what has happened with the van (since he drove it back and if there’s evidence in that), etc.

And if he killed her and hid her in the van, you would think that the FBI would have found some kind of sign of it since they seized and searched the van
They’d had been living in the van for an extended period. Her DNA would have been all over the van. I’m not sure what kind of signs they could find to indicate her body had been stored there for a day or so.
Even traces of blood would be expected from minor cuts and scrapes.

I believe I read somewhere that was a tree, not a person

So much for eyewitness testimony.

This makes no sense. They had no obligation whatsoever to "report him as missing" in the first place. They have no obligation not to assist him in traveling anywhere in the country he desires as a free man. He's not a wanted man up until this point.
They can only really be in trouble if they lied to LEO and LEO can confirm they knew they were lying or knew Brian committed a crime and LEO can confirm they knew. Which I'm sure the lawyer is making sure LEO could never confirm.
