There is video of the police dropping off a notice at the boyfriend's parent's house on Tuesday. No vehicles in driveway.
Then video of the parents arriving home in a red truck. No mustang present.
According to one of the on scene reporters the mustang was in the driveway Wednesday and Thursday, and was on the livestream yesterday being casually searched (no gloves, very brief) by the police.
According to police statement Saturday afternoon, the boyfriend drove mustang to the preserve on Tuesday and never returned, the parents went and retrieved the mustang late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
Did they know he was planning on disappearing? Why did they wait until Friday to report him missing?
* sorry to detail the drama

This case was solved by the super sleuths 40-50 pages back, just waiting on announcements from law enforcement to confirm it. The stress and tension of waiting has caused a lot of personal conflicts since then.

The Spread Creek dispersed campground makes a lot of sense as a search area for Gabby:
1. It's listed as one of the camp areas G & B were considering on their Dyrt account (on their "Near Yellowstone" list)
2. Two local men out spotting elk told a reporter they saw a van like Gabby's on August 29 at the Spread Creek campground "KSL’s Garna Mejia actually ran into a local man who said he and a friend saw Petito’s van as they were spotting for elk on Aug. 29. “He thought he had seen the white sprinter van described — blacked out rims, wheels,” said Tyler Valentine. “We all live in this small town, so when this stuff happens, we all take a little bit of initiative and try to look out for things.” What’s interesting about Spread Creek is that Petito had marked the place as a possible camping area through the Dyrt website, something Valentine and his friend were unaware of when we spoke with them." Search intensifies for Gabby Petito; police respond to Laundrie home in Florida
3. It's within hiking distance of both Colter Bay (15 mi) and Jackson Dam (10 mi) - 2 places we know Brian was on August 29.
4. Also, when I looked at a map it occurred to me that Brian may have gotten anxious and asked to get out suddenly from the TikTok girl's jeep for a different reason. Driving south from Colter Bay toward Jackson, there's a fork in road near the dam - it appears that the jeep driver took the park road instead of the highway (191). If Brian was trying to get back to the Spread Creek campground where the van was parked, he wanted to go on 191, because that's the road which leads to the turn off to the campground. So as soon as the driver took the right turn on the park road, instead of 191, Brian freaked out and asked to get out. And where was he? The Jackson Dam area.
Bringing some quotes over from WS so we can get the gears turning and on the subject again.

Thanks, Em. I was trying to go back page by page for today’s updates when I got sidetracked.

Very true - but why is the government and media so invested in finding him? Not trying to downplay the severity.

Because they probably knew he was going to disappear. It seems to be the only ‘logical’ conclusion. Why the heck would he go for a hike when his missing fiancé made national news? That’s counterintuitive. Why would his parents move his car unless they knew he wasn’t coming back.
This situation is so messed up

Media isn't invested in finding him -- media is invested in eyeballs on tv screens. They want this story to stretch out as long as it can.
Now that the media has made the case super high profile, the cops and govt want to look like they're doing their jobs well and want that good PR moment.

Can anyone comment on how police would obtain a search warrant for the storage unit? I wonder if they made a dump run. Since they don’t have a body... unless they can find serious sign of bodily injury like a bunch of blood in the van, they can’t do anything to BL besides get voluntarily questioning.
Just spitballing but if BL drove home from 8/29-9/1 (emphasis on how long it took), could he have driven home on 8/17, and then flown back to SLC on 8/22. Like it’s been discussed, it wouldn’t take 3 days to clean out a unit so why the 5 day trip.

Does anyone remember what day the couple(one of them had terminal cancer) was supposed to have spotted the van in Wyoming?
