Whew. I was gonna say that I don't think I can get there with the radar.

The warning on that former monster has been canceled.

They let that warning go. Thank God.

The tornado has lifted somewhere close to Childersburg...official surveys will provide details, but based on radar, there's a good chance that tornado was on the ground for close to ONE HUNDRED MILES.
Whew.

The shear is good for supercell transition but it appears to be in a spot with lower low-level rotation potential. The dynamics to get a long run tornado are parked over the north half of Alabama at this point. Additionally the upper level support is fading a little and instability is starting to wane as well.
Figure it's more likely something in that southern cluster in eastern Alabama gets spinning.

Managed to catch the Greensboro tornado on my drone. The storm wedged out immediately after this and was headed directly at us. It proceeded to cross the road directly in front of us. Videos soon...

So far no major injuries have been reported in the areas hit earlier today in the southern B’ham metro.

3 of the 5 fatalities in Ohatchee were a family of 3.

Charles Peek has his drone up looking into people's damaged homes in Bham from above

Looks like it may have been a mobile home. That's the pic I keep seeing posted with the story, anyway.
