Anyone seen reports of damage out of Indian Springs? That's where Hemp's mom was, and he hasn't posted any since it passed through.

The lapse rates (how fast temperature falls as you go up in the atmosphere) aren't especially steep over central Alabama (I'm talking between roughly Montgomery to Birmingham across the state) but there is a pocket of higher instability getting situated there (1500-2000 J/kg) and upper level divergence is maximizing over the region.
At least if it stays this kind of messy line structure, the potential available won't maximize. See a cell jump out of line and turn right though and it's a different story.

She is fine. She had a little bit of tree damage but nothing major. Some folks nearby got it a lot worse.

EMA hasn’t been able to get to our neighborhood due to numerous trees down. my husband is safely checking on neighbors. He is asking them to call 911. Many cannot get out of their homes. So far, no injuries.

Goddamn, is the whole state just screwed today? How are things in Athens? Just flash floods in parts?

Rained like hell a bit ago. Flooding in the usual places, I'm sure.

If you've ever heard of the Alabama Gang, Red Farmer's house was damaged slightly in Indian Springs. His car looks to have gotten the worst of it.
