I've read the first 15 or so pages, and I assume the last 20+ are much of the same - lots of guys that look like the murderer trying to justify his actions?

Doesn’t take much of an imagination. Thugs beat up white folks in NOLA often and get away with it. I’m thinking the 60 yr old was a black dude and Garret over defended himself because he didn’t want to be another statistic. The main thing Garret has going against him in this case is he’s a white dude.

Maybe he overdefended himself but it doesn't justify murder and if you haven't seen, it was a pretty frail 60 year old guy, so its not like he has a great case for "overdefense".
The main thing against him is the witnesses saying they saw him kicking the guy in the head while he was on the ground which has nothing to do with race.
