That's a good application, but I also think that there is a chance that Ward was involved in an altercation with someone and Jackson attempted to break it up, which caused the direct interaction between Ward and Jackson.
That could explain multiple angles, as in people describing Ward in an altercation, and Ward describing a mugging. What I don't see is where Jackson fits into all this.

What if Wards witness is Drew Brees?
Or even better, what if Warde witness is Kamara?
Both had a game the next day against the Panthers I don’t believe they would have been there.

Stopped at that Exxon corner of Vets and Williams the other night. In my truck dude knocks on the window-scares the shite out of me.
Crack the window-“hey man you wanna buy a bag?”
No man I’m not I to that.
“no man, I mean you wanna buy a bag?”
He held up an American Tourister I guess he stole from baggage claim.
I chuckled. I didn’t beat him to death.
What did your husband say?

Solid point, 08.

I did, and I've read it 50 times and I still don't get what you're trying to say. I must be an idiot.

Damn
I have a new theory
Slackster, judging by his email, is Ronald Gasser. In order to take heat off himself, framed ward. Tgrbait08, responded too quick to dispel the notion Brees or Kamara could be the witness due to having a game the next day. He is the detective on the case, who obviously is biased to get a conviction against Ward

Occam's razor checks out.

You don’t need my bias to convict Ward. Dude is already a dead man walking.

Like I said earlier this afternoon, his friends and family are desperately trying to figure a way to get him out of this without doing any time. They don’t want 10 years or 5 years or even 1 year. They want zero years. Whether or not he killed an innocent man or not is a moot point. I guarantee they’re going to think of some sort of defense... and this “mugging” scenario isn’t impressing me... I’m betting the “He told me he had a gun” card will be played next.

I can see one of the baws outside of red zone asking Ward for money. I can see them getting mouthy with him and blocking his path when he told them to piss off. This happened to me 2 hours ago when I walked there to buy a Gatorade.
I can see a fricked up commercial real estate broker from br who rarely deals with people making less than $70k thinking he is getting “mugged” in this situation and teaching old red to check the knuckles and come correct.
It still doesn’t justify kicking the baw in the head once he is on the ground.

Maybe the woman Ward was beating on was a crack whore asking Ward for money and she got a little too close to him. I can see Ward pushing her away and old Red stepping in where he didn’t belong and Ward feeling threatened by a bunch of crackheads at 1 am, and he turned into fight or flight mode. Poor Red got his arse killed as a result.

There has got to be video. A security camera or a cell phone.
Was Ward charged with assault before Red died?

That’s a great question.

That’s also a plausible scenario. So many tourists come to this neighborhood and think “oh I’m fancy I’m going to pay $10 for a cocktail at hot tin” and don’t realize the absolute ghetto is like 2 blocks away. Then they see a black guy and automatically assume they are about to be robbed or murdered.
I suspect something started the situation—ward didn’t just see a random black dude and decide to go full Storm Front and curb stomp him into the afterlife. But bruh. There are ways of defusing situations that don’t involve kicking a guy who is already on the ground.
