I hope to God you’re right.

If they can stay calm enough not to rip their mask off and are tethered to the diver shouldn’t they have a good chance or am I missing something?

Time to bring in the best.

Dear Lord please guide these divers as they selflessly try to help rescue those trapped out of what seems like an impossible situation.
And kiss my arse to you who may be offended by this.

I heard it would take 5-6 hours to get to the boys and then 5-6 hours to get one out. Was on Fox or CNN radio today. I can't imagine being a waiting parent.

That makes sense since they're 2.5 miles into the cave. I'm sure it's not a straight direct path within the passages themselves even though the map has a pretty direct route. Bound to be some zig and zag and duck and dive.
They also have places where they can rest basically, at least given current water levels.
Eta: and they'll be going against a current as they go into the cave.

Did y'all read in the link right above that 10 were involved in a vehicle accident as they drove around to look for openings in chimneys?? One critically wounded I think it said. Vehicle fell off of a cliff.
This is a nightmare.

It’s almost 10 am in Thailand.
Could it be that the responsders have already made it to the kids and are already on their way out with 4 of the boys as reported.

Damn. Might have more lives lost than lives saved in this one.
Its Saving Private Ryan in Thailand.

I wish they would/could just wait it out. I know oct/nov is a long ways away. I’ll say a prayer shortly.

I should clarify --- no fatalities per the report.
To think that this coach was only trying to have a fun outing with his team after a practice. Sounds like he did a great job of keeping them ok and together while until they were found.

They determined that was no longer possible because they found other passageways that will be dumping more monsoon rains into the cave aside from the main cave entrance.
They will drown if they remain.

No kidding. My thoughts exactly.

“You’re literally pulling yourself, hand over hand, in zero visibility,” Mr. Reymenants, 45, recalled in a telephone interview. “You can’t read your depth gauge, you can’t read the time, so you’re basically flying blind in a direction you don’t know.”
Knowing there are people with the bravery and wherewithal to do something like this makes me proud to be a human...
...while also a bit self-loathsome, as I can't even walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night without clumsily hitting a wall.

And the coach is only 25 years old.

Gotcha. Didn’t know that. I thought they could just run pumps for the next few months and keep the water level where it is now until it finally subsided.
