The bad news is that nothing will come of this. There are zero repercussions for people doing this, which is why they continue to do it.
The good news is that these situations are beginning to aggregate so that making these accusations will mean nothing until real evidence is presented.

I have read that too. It's amazing how the exact opposite result they were looking for with more transparency with body cams that now it is no longer a good idea. I have an idea, I hope everyone can follow.

I feel bad for the cop but let’s not get carried away.
I know plenty of jobs more dangerous than being a cop that also serve the public but don’t get any of the protections that cops get. I’m sure this cop has protected and served the hell out of someone before. {edit: to the douche bags DVing this, I posted a list of the most dangerous/deadly jobs. Cops aren’t even in the top 10. Where are the memorials for high voltage linemen that risk their life daily so you can run your AC?} The woman should absolutely either be charged with something or be sued into oblivion. $0.60 of every dollar she ever earns should go to the cop and permanently disqualify her from ever getting any government benefits (unemployment, welfare, etc.) Also make it where bankruptcy doesn’t invalidate her payments to the cop.

Hopefully. I wish they could put the video's out the day they make the claim so it squashes it a lot faster. How many of those 80,000 people that retweeted even know that it was a lie now?

Because there is no deterrent and they know the Pltf Atty will run with it. So now large sums of money are spent to bring a suit based on bs, and for an innocent defendant to not have their life ruined.
I doubt there is any kind of thorough vetting process when this type of situation is brought to a plaintiff firm. The innocent party doesn't get their money back after the fact.

Unfortunately, it's how things work now. Even major media outlets do this. They always post first for the clicks then quietly retract or edit some time later.
