No one bats an eye because it’s been that way their whole lives. It’s what they are used to. No one gets upset if someone says pass me a Kleenex when it’s another brand because it’s what they are used to. Trump’s rhetoric on Greenland and also Canada was to counter 4-years of Chinese and Russian efforts to extend their spheres of influence in the Arctic and Greenland.
Greenland is pivotal for the defense of North America. It also has vital rare earth metals and other strategic resources that China wanted to exploit.
Canada had totally given up efforts to spend on its national defense which shifted that burden to the United States to defend the continent while China and Russia were lurking in the Arctic. The rhetoric again, was to get Canada off the couch and back in the game.
But of course, Trump was just doing “stupid shite” because he wanted to buy Greenland and make Canada a state….

Oh no, I’m just assuming people are forgetting the new name since it’s so new. Me pointing out this fact has people upset. Not one person has offered a good reason for the gulf to share its name with the shitstain that is Mexico. It is no different than if a stadium or company is named after someone, then having its name changed later on when it is revealed that the person whom it was named after was discovered to be a pos.
