1) that’s a great explanation for people like me without a clue. I’ve learned a lot reading and asking questions
2) I couldn’t go to sleep last night thinking about this and praying for all.

The washing machine description is spot on, the waves and current beating up under the hull against the cabin. Twisted stairways, ladders. Deck equipment and cargo hanging upside down still tied or halfway tied down.Hanging cables, lines, hoses.
The conditions at 25-50 ft down aren’t necessarily related to the surface weather. Just because it’s bad seas doesn’t mean that it’s rough underwater, and it can be bad currents underwater and appear to be flat and glassy up top.
I don’t know what the situation is underwater, I’m just pointing out that getting the divers to the location and able to dive due to surface conditions does not necessarily mean conditions while down are dangerous.

Looks like they have a decent window to search today.

I’m calling it. First thing on this beautiful morning.
You are an idiot.
I’m not even going to try to explain underwater turbulence to you. You are an idiot.
Did they even let you touch the sharp knives when you were a deckhand? Who cut the bait? Who cleaned the fish ?

Yes Thankfully.

When the divers are tethered to a moving boat on the surface I would say surface conditions matter greatly.

No shite and I never said differently.
The claim was that the cargo on the ship may be flailing around like a washing machine underwater, including the cranes that are likely on the sea floor. My statement was that surface conditions don’t necessarily relate to conditions deeper. But fine guys, you clearly know everything.

I’m just reading that the divers found an entryway yesterday and would be in the water at daybreak today (hopefully this started?). Ask says that one diver has said he’s seen before survival in an air pocket for two weeks. They did say also that there are several air pockets where they could be.

Don’t see any rain down there. Divers should be going in ASAP.
What does that have to do with divers in the water? Did you happen to look at the wave heights today? I believe that is going to make the determining call, not weather or not its raining. Calling for 2 to 4 foot seas, should be fine but if that goes up much more then it may get suspended.

That was never said. You are literally taking two stated scenarios and combining them.
Please just remove yourself from this thread.

Because typically the stronger winds are around storms.

This is great to hear.

Yes
But they rain doesn’t bother the divers, they gonna get wet anyway.

I understand that. I was going solely off of the radar to make my assumption regarding wave height.

This probably got answered earlier but are these navy/USCG divers or like a commercial diving/salvage company?
