I'm playing UNO with my 6 year old son. I'm 9-1 against him. He's learning the game the hard way. It's 4:30 PM here.

He is mad and quit playing. The wife started complaining at me for not letting him win. She's gone back to the kitchen.

Don’t try to collect all the douche points at once and mentally beat your 1st grader into submission.
Teaching him how to be better at the game so he can win is the way to to engage him as a good parent. Not to show that you’re so much smarter than a 6 year old.
If this need to dominate your kids continues over time, he will grow up not giving a rats arse about you.

We played some more, and he has improved . He beat me a few times, and now enjoys the game.
