In your 20’s and 30’s I think it’s pretty normal to get why having no kids is a lot more spontaneously fun and free. I think later on in life you start realizing that while traveling and boozing/socializing has its fun, at that point you could be experiencing the world with your children, which is amazing.
As a 34 year old father of three, being childless left me considerably more consistently happy. But fatherhood has probably had higher highs of happiness than being married and childless. Lower lows too. And way less consistently content. I often feel overwhelmed and anxious due to being a father. It is way fricking harder than anything else I’ve ever done. Law school and the practice of law are a joke compared to trying to raise three kids three years old and younger. In fact, work is a break from parenthood.
And I do have regrets sometimes. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have the kids. But I only want them gone for a few days. I can’t picture not having them long term. Or even for more than a week. It’s a weird balance.

How do you know if you’ve never had them?
I know I dont have kids and I'm happy with not many worries. Generally speaking, pretty much get to do whatever I want, when I want to and if I want to.
ETA: don't plan on having any either.

Do these "experts" base this off of accurate data? And I couldn't imagine any other group that would try to make everyone think they are happy AF that unmarried women with no kids.. So in other words, there really is no possible way to know this.

The most miserable and hateful people I have ever met in my life have been unmarried childless middle aged women. Also they were the most ignorant people I have ever met in my life.

Unmarried men with no kids are the happiest group on the planet. And it’s not close.

I didn't have a kid until I was forty. I was happy before but I can't imagine life without my son. It's just a different kind of love.

Being a healthy white male with grown kids and no money worries is a kinda sweet place to be too; especially when you find a happy unmarried woman with no kids to hang out with...

Would be they be happier as single moms? We know the OT absolutely puts them on a pedestal.

Odd that ignoring a basic biological instinct (passing on genes) and a basic human emotional instinct (finding a meaningful lasting human connection) would cause someone to be more fulfilled and happy. Almost like people lied in a garbage study
