Nearly all of Alabama's campus was destroyed due to the Civil War.
Can we get these protesters to rebuild it?
ETA: rebuilt with the help of. Their efforts didn't rebuild it alone.

Grant didn't own slaves

The last president who ever owned slaves was, ironically, Ulysses S. Grant, elected in 1868 after he had commanded Union forces to victory over the Confederacy in the war that led to the abolition of slavery. Grant owned a slave named William Jones, whom he freed in 1859. Between 1854 and 1859 Grant worked and lived on an 850-acre farm in Missouri, near St. Louis, that was owned by his father-in-law. Grant’s wife, Julia, also owned slaves, and during Grant’s management of the farm he worked along with one of them, a man named Dan. The farm is now the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, part of the National Park Service.

Located in Austin. This shouldn't surprise anyone
Austin is like somebody picked up Seattle and dropped it right smack dab in the heart of Texas.

He relocated Woodrow Wilson, who was a child during the Civil War. WTF
It's pretty well-known that Wilson was a HUGE racist.

Are they going to tear down George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Ulysses Grant's statues?
Did they fight a war against the United States?

Won't be long before they start protesting the beltway. The name Sam Houston Tollway will be called racist and they'll demand it be changed to the Al Sharpton "Haven't Paid My Tolls" Way
I love how much of a non-issue it is that EVERYONE travels through Mr Segregation's tunnel in Mobile.

Robert E Lee said he would fight for whatever side Virginia chose. Virginian first and foremost. It was about state's rights, as it still is today.
Ironically, the liberal states against states rights are now in a tizzy because of federal overreach regarding marijuana laws.

The statues depicting Robert E. Lee, Albert Sidney Johnston, John Reagan and James Stephen Hogg are now being removed from the Main Mall. The Lee, Johnston and Reagan statues will be added to the collection of the Briscoe Center for scholarly study. The statue of James Hogg, governor of Texas (1891-1895), will be considered for re-installation at another campus site.
Robert E Lee still taking losses

Glad all these statues are being removed so we can finally end racism once and for all.

Now wait a minute, I thought these monuments were coming down because they reminded people of slave owners?
