They thought these types of opinions would cool down during the summer, but it got substantially worse.

The idea is especially popular in the southern states, mountain region, and on the west coast.

Shocking poll finds many Americans now want to secede from the United States

-Support for secession is growing among every partisan group in the months following the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

-But it is greatest in the South “where support was already highest and has the greatest historical precedent.”

-“By this summer, we anticipated, political tempers may have cooled,” the group conducting the research wrote.

Support for secession is growing among every partisan group in the months following the Jan. 6 riots at the Capitol but particularly among southern Republicans, a new poll found.

Bright Line Watch, in conjunction with YouGov, found that citizen support for their state or region to secede from the U.S. is greatest in the South “where support was already highest (and has the greatest historical precedent).” Overall, 37 percent of respondents indicated a “willingness to secede.”

Support among southern Republicans grew from polling conducted in January, which showed 50 percent were in favor of secession. But the number leapt to 66 percent in June.

If only we were United STATES, we wouldn’t be at each other’s throats. Why does everything have to be run the same in Boston and Bawcomville?

Starting to think that this country is destined for divorce. The sooner it happens, the better off we'll be.

Obviously we should try to avoid it. But if we can't, it's not something we are going to want to prolong while the country declines into chaos.

Especially when we would get invaded.
Or if some other problems showed up.

It’s almost like the Confederates were correct about federal oppression.

I think it happens in the next 100 years.

Democrats are no longer liberal. They are totally fine with censorship, and there's no issue that they believe the federal government can't solve...even when it's created by the federal government. They represent coastal interests entirely and have completely ostracized the working members of their party with a globalist agenda that is criticized for outsourcing and the erosion of our industrial base.

Republicans from flyover country make up the majority of military recruits, but that pipeline will stop the more subjugated they feel. They are heavily aligned with the energy industry and have a nationalist streak. They aren't as supportive of completely open, free trade as they used to be. Most believe Washington DC politicians, their media friends, and our institutions as being entrenched against middle America.

I don't see how we can keep going like this.

The question is if it will be a clean, quiet separation or an all out war. An internal war would put us all at risk for outside invaders.

If we can get California, Oregon, and Washington to secede we won’t have to.

The invasion already happened. America will fall without a foreign power even firing a shot.

If a separation is inevitable, it should be fast. I don't see what's controversial about that.

The richest nation having states seceding.
Takes like that show how sheltered they are from the world.
People struggle to get a shot at living in this country and we have ungrateful idiots wanting to leave it.

What's funny is that the people wanting to secede are largely the same ones that lose their minds when someone doesn't put their hand over their heart for the national anthem.

No idea how to geographically divide it up. But I do think the differences are too deep to ameliorate.

Hopefully it happens fast.
