That kind of take-charge attitude is exactly what you want in your pilot.

His ability to come up with creative and effective solutions for the problems facing the people around him is exactly what made him a capable pilot.
Less than 2 years away from retirement, probably enough sick hours banked to take that time off as a paid vacation anyway while he’s on “administrative leave.”
Good for him.

I hey that delta pilot who let a child shite in a bag because he couldn’t make the decision to deplane the aircraft didn’t carry an axe.

That quick-thinking mom who commandeered the bag for her kid to shite in is pilot material though.

I bet when those (redacted) terrorists break into his cockpit with box cutters they're in for a rude awakening.

Most of us carry chain saws. Makes quick work of the arms.

We once had an FA go into an empty cockpit of a 767 post-flight (the pilots had already left) to grab the crash-axe because the closet where she/him stored it’s bags was jammed and it was going to miss their commuter flight . Proceeded to all out Ragnar on the door to free the bag. No longer employed by the airline.

Glad it was to a security gate and not to 150 people on board a plane.

A pilot causes $700 of damage to a malfunctioning parking gate and gets arrested. However, a dirtbag can walk into a store and steal hundreds of dollars of stuff and nothing happens.

That's a problem solver right there.

He's 63? Cool.
I thought they didn't have commercial pilots that were older than 60. Seems like a silly rule.

Anyone flying into Denver the last few months would have done the same. It’s a fricking disaster.
I’ve grown to despise air travel.

He may have recently been to Lowes and still had it in his VW.

So he’s not flying the friendly skies anymore?
