An unexpected shortfall in Louisiana’s share of offshore oil and gas royalties could force the state to delay or cancel coastal restoration projects scheduled to start as soon as 2019, according to the state’s Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.

Governor Honor Code will make sure we supplement that funding with another round of taxes. He might even call another special session for it.

Maybe we can toss the statues in the gulf to make artificial reefs.

Too many hands in the cookie jar.

Make up for some of that money by firing every budget analyst that had anything to do with acquiring and verifying funding for the coastal projects.

At this point let’s just spend money to keep beefing up the levee system around the greatest city in the gulf south and blow the levees just south of the Naval air base in Belle Chase.

Guess that means no more LSU football.

An unexpected
How long does the price of oil and gas have to be at these low prices before the people who estimate tax revenue adjust their numbers?
Next month I'll just not pay any bills because I unexpectedly didn't hit the lottery.

That one was hilarious. The one entity at LSU that not only funds itself, but gives back to the university was being held hostage

These loons continue to think O&G employment is at an all time high and that there are a several year wait for operational rigs.

Also if you expand the Port to New Orleans East(lake Pontchartrain) you don't have to worry about dredging and would likely cut a ship's travel time from gulf to port in half. Also would see an increase in jobs/ revenue to be in better competition with Houston.

Is it really unexpected? By this point if you’re expecting the LA gov to actually use funding for the greater good, then you need to lower expectations. On the bright side, my home town might he beach front property one day.
