I think that's huge. All my Ukrainian buddies say these guys are the poor welfare-class type scumbags and lowlifes that are protesting. Getting paid and fed to protest, etc. They can use the good press.
All my Ukrainian friends can talk about is the dead cops. They're all western Ukrainians, though.

ironic cause the west is on the protesters' side.. the east is the faction that supports the govt.

I know they don't want to use whatever weapons the security guys had but it seems like just having them would have given them a little negotiating leverage.

Letting them go was smart, but take the shields and helmets. They probably had bulletproof vests too. shite, you have to take those.

Exactly. The moral high ground doesn't amount to much when someone has a gun pointed at you.
