3.Mj2 laughing at himself about MPG thread trying to comfort Darth

So...The Daily Mail fricked up calling it a grenade launcher, which it clearly is not.

Yes. And I mistakenly thought North Korea was claiming they were grenade launchers. Turns out they're not. I was wrong about that.

But it appears to be a tube magazine for a submachine gun?

It a tube magazine fitted to a Type 88 rifle. This is the North Korean copy of the Soviet AK-74. The Type 88 normally has the usual banana style magazine seen on most all AK variants and copies, but these Type 88s have been fitted with a tubular one.

There is a sub machine gun that looks similar, the PP-19. But it was introduced in the 90s whereas the Type 88 was introduced in the 80s. Both are based on the AK family but are substantially different from one another.

You keep saying that. But explain to me how a Type 88 RIFLE that came out in the 80's is a knock off of an SMG that came out in the 90's.

Dude. I'm not saying replica. It's a knock off. They put this clip on the Type 88 so their special forces dudes can look like they're holding PP-19s. Would fake be a better word to use for you? Fake, knock off... Etc..

I don't get what you don't get.

Good fricking lord. The article I linked said it was a grenade launcher.

I don't see any clips on those type 88s.

And you said, and I quote,

"The Type 88 is a knock off of a PP-19."

That's completely wrong. Just because they've designed a tubular magazine for the Type 88 does not turn the Type 88 into a PP-19 "knock-off".

My knowledge is extensive, not absolute. Knowing a lot doesn't mean knowing it all.

I'm not sure why this comes as a surprise to so many, but there are military and historic facts I simply don't know about. And one of those things is the fact North Korea has produced a tubular magazine to use on certain variants of their Type 88 rifle.

But now I do know.

Definition of "knock-off"

: a copy that sells for less than the original; broadly : a copy or imitation of someone or something popular

imitation of someone or something

How can the Type 88 have been an imitation of something that didn't exist for another decade after it was introduced?

BTW, you do realize thr average Type 88 still uses the old fashioned banana magazine, right?

Holy frick dude. I'm talking about the tube clip thing. The thing this whole thread is about. They put those on the Type 88 so that it looks like PP-19.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with you.

Why do you keep trying to argue something that you clearly know nothing about. Here's a piece of advice, know when you've been defeated.

Holy frick dude. You said the Type 88 is a knock-off of the PP-19. As in the whole thing was a copy of the PP-19. You never said anything about it just being the magazine.

Now you're changing what you said and crawfishing instead of manning up and admitted you were wrong.

Darth... The whole damn thread is about this magazine that you thought was a faux grenade launcher.

You're just trying to get a "gotcha" on me. Practice what you preach you hypocritical frick.

ETA:

I even specified in my troll post:

quote:

Hey Darth do u wanna buy a knock off PP-19? It's called a Type 88 with a helica clip

Stop trying dude. Just let it go.
