None of this is true.
ETA the part about COVID money, perhaps. But the rest is pulled out of your arse

False.
The number of education majors at LSU is at an all time low.

Something's Rotten at the Top: Since booting Kevin George, Interim Administrator Rob Lyles has apparently made employee terminations his new favorite pastime. It’s been a veritable firing frenzy since the start of the year—names dropped with the precision of a dartboard strategy. Thursdays and Fridays seem to be the preferred hit days (how subtle), almost as if someone’s trying to keep things under the radar of the media or labor boards. The working theory? The school’s bleeding money, and the grand plan is to gut experienced staff and swap in cheaper replacements. So much for all that heartfelt praise at the 2024 graduation—remember the speeches about excellence and community? Yeah, neither do they. This reeks of a slow-motion implosion. If there’s a vision for the future of this campus, it’s being scribbled on the back of a napkin. Somebody better start asking hard questions—because right now, it’s starting to look like nobody’s job is safe, and the school is headed straight for the iceberg
This post reeks of chatGPT usage.
Rob Lyles has been a positive addition to that school. Yes, there have been some firings, removals of addition admin duties from some and non renewal of contracts, but there is a reason for this. It is not really the business of random public nor should it matter unless it was truly a wrongful termination. Alas, we are an at will state.
Folks were hesitant of him at first but all I have heard was positive feedback about his leadership in this short time.
Sounds like you feel you have been personally victimized by him and want to drag his name through the mud. It’s not working.

No, it happens in EBR public schools, too. Not a bs theory.

It’s absolutely a BS theory in this case.

Rob Lyles was put in his position to clean house and move the school in a positive direction. Over the last 2.5 months, I have never seen the level of communication to parents from any school regarding steps forward and especially personnel matters. That certainly doesn’t exist in public schools with superintendents and elected official school boards. All parents were invited to participate in the interview process for the elementary principal finalists just this week. They both appear to be stellar candidates . He’s doing a great job.
I have zero clue why Lab is always such a topic of negative conversation. Not everyone wants to attend a parochial/Catholic school.I’ve never known a friend to not get their kid in Catholic or SJA if they have decent grades. Are there children of influential people that attend ? Yes. Do they recruit athletes like any other school? Yes. Are they selective because the school is small? Yes. As a parent, my hope is that going forward recruitment will consider academics and athletic giftedness. Lab has a wonderful performing and visual arts program.
I would like to think my child was admitted because of a stellar transcript, LEAP scores and performance on the admissions exam. We play no sports and had no ties to the school. We toured every middle school classroom and they were not crowded as some have said. The new students list for middle school was quite short. The Golden Gala was amazing this year and everyone has been extraordinarily friendly.

Public school problems. OT Ballers don't bother themselves with this trivia. Trying to save a few bucks, lol. Go to a real private school.

Braxxton homeschools in our RV between games.

Do your research MikeBRLA.. U High is an extension of LSU. It's a PUBLIC SCHOOL with public school problems thanks to cleo & gordon. Just because parents are dumb enough to pay 1/3 of the cost to go to a public school doesn't make it private

The school has gone to shits. People are pulling their kids left and right and putting them in Catholic, SJA, and Dunham. Wait until the LEAP scores come out this year, I promise they will be lower. It’s in an horrible state.

100% false

Completely false. My kid has been there 10 years and there and barely any openings pop up from year to year.

Has UHigh moved away from that useless IB program?

No, they still offer it. I didn't see the benefit, so mine is doing some AP classes instead.

Over 30 kids left last year between 8th and 9th grade.

My experience is this is not false. I don't know many U High families but of the ones I know several have pulled their kids.
What is the 1B program?

These kids were probably always going to be going to CHS or St. Joseph's once they finished middle school. Lab was the cheaper option for the parents until they got to that point.

It's not. I believe it was less than 10 from what my daughter told me. Point is, the kids who went to the other schools were always going to.
