While I’m pretty sure Apple saves everything you’ve ever done, they are adamant about never sharing with authorities. Unless, that whole FBI fight was a front.

It still seems more likely that family members were screen recording using built in function. It would be video only if done on iPhone or iPad, but it wasn't like it was a discussion as much as sharing what she and her son were doing on the lake with family and some members of family probably wanted to record that.

I also think there are some paid apps that can record both video and audio. It kind of makes the setting to allow or not allow Live Photo's to be taken during calls pointless as I think screen recording can be done regardless and without notifying the other person or persons on call.

Yes, Im aware that is what they post on their website. But they are still the acting middle man of everything. The statement that they cannot decrypt it is arguably not true as is reflected in their full legal policy document.
