I guess we're paying for them to relocate. Local Rouses went up from $4.99 to $7.99 for same 12oz bag

Rouses is higher than a cat's back so not surprising.

I've always felt like their CC's Coffee House business could do better if they just had the balls to expand. It's hard to do that and maintain good employees, but it's not impossible. They need to add locations in newer developments in outlying suburbs the way Starbucks does - and move into neighboring metros like Lake Charles, Houston, Memphis, Mobile, etc. CC's has a decent product with decent prices - better than Starbucks in many cases. They just need convenient retail locations. And that requires aggressive location scouts and a little risk taking. And expand into prime locations before Starbucks does.

This why they’re going to Texas. Not doing it to contract . In a few years after they’ve opened more locations throughout the region, the headquarters will go there too in anticipation of a public offering.

No doubt a private equity firm is involved with this.

Most interesting in this St. George opera has been the 11th-hour emergence of some two dozen prominent business leaders who, in a hallelujah moment of greater good clarity, joined hands to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony while declaring their opposition to largely middle-class residents forming their own city

That link you posted is an opinion piece behind a paywall and doesnt state any details or facts of what was said or done.

How exactly did this group "declare their opposition"? What was said?

I searched Google high and low trying to find some sort of statement or news piece, nada. Absolutely 0 results show up. Which makes me believe your opinion piece you linked is just clickbait.

CC’s is now in some of the new Brookshires Grocery locations in north Louisiana. It’s not freestanding but still.

Community Coffee has always been in Shreveport and was a staple in our house.

I remember when grocery stores used to provide complimentary cups of coffee to shoppers.

I can't control Google algorithms, sorry. The Saurage family spoke in opposition numerous times, as did Lipsey. I'm not a scribe, so you'll have to choose to belive those of us who paid attention years ago, or the BRBR. Or not.

So you have no source for your statement other than an opinion piece that doesnt even include any statements or detail other than the writer's interpretation of an event.

Dude, you're questioning local news stories from several years ago. I don't care what you believe. Many of us paid attention then and remember. Your argument is that JR Ball mistakingly included Donna Saurage in that article.....that's funny.

No it's not. My argument is that article has no facts about what that "BR elite" group said or did. Simply that they "joined hands in opposition" at an opera.

Like was this opera an anti St George opera?? Makes no sense and reeks of clickbait by some opinion piece writer at the BRBR.

Speaking of Frisco:

1) Does anybody remember when the trailers of hookers worked from where the giant mall sits? I think tht is where they were. Frisco was built out like a Sim City game starting around 1998.

2) Back when Frisco was a one high school town their mascot was the Coons. They, um, changed it when they got big enough to be noticed.

Not saying you’re wrong, just adding to the discussion - they opened CC’s coffee houses in DFW and I think they all closed down. One was in north Addison/south Plano right off the Tollway so it had plenty of visibility. That was maybe 15 years ago. Now there’s even more competition from Starbuck’s, regional outlets like Dutch Bros that are more about the menu and not a single coffee brand, and smaller local outlets, CC’s will have a tough time.

It’s amazing to watch the Northwest transplants line up at a Dutch Bros drive thru. They have to hire off duty sheriff deputies to direct traffic. But they always have some granola-eating kids with iPads taking orders in line.

That's a better source. Only Lamar spoke there, at least what was shown in the clip. And it was fluff talk about how it's better to work together than go apart.

I see nothing damning as what was expected like any of those businesses taking a political stand in the matter.

It was a clip. It told you exactly who spoke against the incorporation effort. The WAFB headline was literally "Baton Rouge business leaders unite against proposed City of St. George". It was one example of many, as I told you before when you claimed it was merely clickbait. You can call it "fluff" all you want, but it was a direct political position against the incorporation. So going back full circle, Community Coffee can go ahead and move to TX. Hypocrites. Just like all of the leftist elite, they help destroy their own communities then leave.
