Not because of that

quote:why? You just itching to get on a 3 day cruise to Cozumel? It’s their company and they can do whatever they want and obviously sailing the ghetto around the gulf is profitable
It’s time carnival gets a handle on this.
Let them have it, neither you or I or any other civilized person is missing anything worth doing

For one they only Cruise out of NOLA from Oct to April (when they reposition their ships from Alaska.) Second, They're refurbishing the main ship that come to NOLA and they're introducing a brand new ship in NOLA in 2026..
Royal and Norwegian don't have near the problem as Carnival because Carnival is so much cheaper to sail on and RCL and NCL only have 7 + day sailings out of NOLA. The shorter the cruise the more ghetto the party.

Yes Carnival cruise has much in common with The Bellagio. Actually I would rate Carnival's seafood higher due to the freshness. Staff bring in their fresh catch each morning.

Someone sell this scrip to Hollywood. Could be like Lord of the Flies except maybe call it Kang of the Seas.

the penalty for fighting in federal waters is a whole lot worse. you deal with a whole different authority.

I’m curious how Carnival handles a situation like this. Do they just let them fight it out and let everyone go on their way with zero consequences? Or do they investigate and make arrests?

They’ll just sweep it under the rug

Is there other areas to get food?
Yes. You can eat in the dining room. The food is a bit fancier and you have the same waiter throughout the cruise. Some ships have specialty restaurants and places to get pizza or burgers. Room service is also available.

So if you’re at the sit down portion of the boat are you required to a predetermined tip amount vs the buffet you owe nothing? If so, there’s your answer

You pay predetermined gratuities regardless of where you eat. The amount is based on the number of days of the trip. Usually in the neighborhood or $14/person/day

It's a job, you can quit any time. From googling-- if you quit at sea, you will be terminated and will wait for the turnaround port. If you cause trouble, you will be confined in your cabin or a ship's jail.
When you get to the next port they put you off the ship with a plane ticket home. They deduct the cost of the ticket from what they owe you in wages. Usually they have a replacement crew member come meet the ship at port, and sometimes they deduct your replacement's plane ticket cost from your pay as well. And then, good luck ever getting another job on a cruise ship, although you might get a job on another line.
