Lost generation of anencephalic babies, no one to support retiree benefits in coming decades, societal collapse. IOW, pretty much a continuation of the situation with the millenials.

Why the hell do we allow 8-9 month pregnant women travel to our country when it's obvious they're just here to pop a squat and shite out another freeloader.

Why are so many posters making jokes about this? It's pretty fricking sad what has happened to this baby.
I don't get it either, I mean what the hell people...

Doctors, including Fox News Health Senior Managing Editor Dr. Manny Alvarez, confirmed the birth of a child with Zika virus linked to microcephaly— the first reported case of the birth defect, which is marked by a partially formed brain, in the continental United States.
The 31-year-old mother, whose name was not disclosed, apparently contracted the Zika virus while in Honduras and was admitted to the emergency room at Hackensack University Medical Center on Friday while vacationing in the U.S. Doctors at Hackensack performed an emergency caesarean section to deliver the baby girl, who was born also with intestinal and visual issues.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA FRICKING ANCHOR BABY BUILD A WALL TRUMP
Psychopaths. All of them.

the story about the child is sad on an individual level
but it's also insane on a general/policy level

We just find it perfect that the baby was born in the US. Now the mom gets to live the American Dream.
How dare she. Send that baby and her mother back to Honduras where they belong. That little piece of shite freeloader doesn't deserve to be here and breathe the same air as the Braydens and Jaydens. Plus, as a Honduran they'll probably steal a spot on Hayden's travel ball team. AGHHHHHHHH!!!! TRUMP!!!

You think it is a good idea to let people in our country 9 months pregnant so they can game the system and stay once the baby is born and reap our benefits?
You honestly don't see the issue there?

just because a person is born in the US, that child shouldn't be guaranteed citizenship

"Vacationing" in the US? Everyone, including the liberal media, knows this is bullshite.
Women from Honduras (or Dominica, or Columbia, or anywhere south of the US border) will come to this country pregnant in order to have their baby for free in our hospitals and, oh by the way, the baby is declared a US citizen.
You Trump guys should get on Twitter and make sure the Don uses this story for his anti-illegal immigration platform. "Hilary let Zika into the USA!"

No. They should not.

Honduras has super strict abortion laws. Can't even have an abortion to save the mother's life. Morning after pill banned. Guess they're going to have a ton of disabled children in the future.

I see the issue from a policy stand point, but let's be practical.
First of all, if a baby is born here with the Zika virus, we should take care of the child to the best of our ability. That is simply the right thing to do.
Second of all, if a mother is going to get her arse to the US in order to guarantee a better life for her child, she and her child are the least of my concerns as far as long-term problems in this country.
I'm not nearly as worried about anchor babies as I am about lazy assholes that have been citizens for generations. This kind of problem is blown way out of proportion and sensationalized to the hilt IMO. I just wish we could find a way to send shithead out for every baby like this that we take in.

They're disproportionately high. If you don't want to let her become a citizen, that is fine by me, but that has been a pillar of our constitution for nearly 150 years and was reaffirmed in 1898 by the Supreme Court.
I still contest that they're not the long-term problems that people think they are.
