I think it is past the rescue phase if the victim is scattered.

Yep. And the dangers of Everest on technical climbing pale in comparison to K2, Annapurna and others.

Did he slip on a stick of dynamite? My goodness.

and there are a couple others in the 8000m club that are worse, at least in turns of death rates

Scattered body parts or whole, I thought they left any body who had died trying to climb Everest right where they had died.
Well in this case it was easier carrying out the pieces, I guess.

Dude was a badass. Sad stuff.
I want to hike to Everest base camp one day. Even that is pretty damn tough. I just want to see that mountain up close...then turn around and leave

On the mountain it's just too tough to get the bodies down.
This guy fell a long way down it appears.

Wow... Kilian Jornet is also up on Everest right now. If you follow mountain sports, it's crazy how every few months a high profile athlete dies on some mountain.

Everest has nothing on Annapurna.

Terrible death. Probably picked up the 7-10 split, though.

Damn. Just saw them mention this on the EverestNoFilter snapchat

Yikes. Many great climbers are taken by Everest.
A buddy of mine summited (I believe the only Louisianian to summit) and his guide didn't make it back...

Maybe an avalanche or something.
