I think it is past the rescue phase if the victim is scattered.

Yep. And the dangers of Everest on technical climbing pale in comparison to K2, Annapurna and others.

Well in this case it was easier carrying out the pieces, I guess.

Dude was a badass. Sad stuff.

I want to hike to Everest base camp one day. Even that is pretty damn tough. I just want to see that mountain up close...then turn around and leave

On the mountain it's just too tough to get the bodies down.

This guy fell a long way down it appears.

Wow... Kilian Jornet is also up on Everest right now. If you follow mountain sports, it's crazy how every few months a high profile athlete dies on some mountain.

Yikes. Many great climbers are taken by Everest.

A buddy of mine summited (I believe the only Louisianian to summit) and his guide didn't make it back...
