Says my estimate is $13-$17 to get from the CBD to Lakeview. Typically I pay $25 in a disgusting cab where the driver looks at me like I'm dog shite when I tell him to Lakeview, talks on the phone the entire ride, and then when we pull up to my house and try to use my credit card their machine is broken and he wants to kill me because I uttered the CC word. No thank you!

The no UberX available is blocking it. I'm smarter than posting my real address on here.

FWIW, there's nothing wrong here. The drivers are either turning their apps on and off, or they have already accepted a trip. The app does let you know whether or not all Ubers of a certain a platform are occupied.

UberX did drop out for a min. Zealot experienced the same thing.

C on Z would you recommend driving for Uber ?

Like I said before, that depends on the individual. The experience driving for Uber pretty much varies by city. Considering how much goes on in NOLA, it may not be a bad idea.

I'm not sure many cabbies will be able to drive for Uber. If you get bad reviews on Uber, customers will not agree to have you pick them up. Also, I believe once you get below a certain review percentage Uber doesn't even let you drive for them. The whole can't teach an old dog new tricks thing comes to mind.

It's not reviews, it's ratings, and drives rate the riders as well.

I meant reviews, thanks. Is it possible to see what your reviews are from the drivers?

Nah, not even the drivers can see the reviews, unless they are in certain markets.

Got an Uber after Jazz fest ended today. Thousands of people all leaving at the same time. No surge. $16 bucks to uptown

I took an Uber literally an hour after they went live on the 16th to the airport. I requested one and got my suitcase and went outside and he was already waiting...less than 2 minutes. Great experience all around.

Has anybody ever taken it from the airport before? I heard it was a bit more complicated and would prefer an Uber over a cab when I get back Sunday.
