Two women rescued after 5 months at sea

Video of the Rescue from KHON 2 in Honolulu
Hawaii to Tahiti and these two nitwits end up 900 miles off the coast of Japan. These two should have had an epirb and a Satellite telephone at the least.
Update these two had a Epirb but didn't turn it on.
A Coast Guard review of the incident and subsequent interviews with the women revealed that they had an EPIRB aboard their boat but never turned it on.
