Griddy seeks relief from ERCOT for customers exposed to non-market pricing On Monday evening, the PUCT implemented a non-market pricing mechanism for electricity mandating prices reaching as high as hundreds of times normal prices. Griddy’s customers, which pay pass-through wholesale electricity prices, were immediately negatively impacted by the non-market pricing and have incurred bills that they will need more time to pay. On Tuesday, Griddy began engaging with ERCOT and the PUCT seeking customer relief. Griddy is continuing these efforts and is committed to crediting customers for any relief received, dollar-for-dollar. As soon as the PUCT reversed its Monday non-market pricing mechanism today, wholesale prices in ERCOT went negative and our customers were paid to be on the Griddy platform.
Received this email yesterday so my bill is higher than planned because once again government over steps. I’m fine with paying that higher price when it is set by the market but I am not ok with paying higher prices because they set a price

How much higher is your bill?

If I read the order correctly, it set the minimum price per MWh over the emissions and pollutions standards at $1500/MWh. Which is insanity, but doesn’t really mean much when the wholesale rate was hitting $8000/MWh.
This is assuming we’re talking about the assholey DOE order.

$300 so not bad and I was perfectly fine paying that because I knew what I signing up for. After learning it was government set pricing causing me to pay more I am a little ticked about it

It wasn’t the Republicans that insisted on these pollution thresholds for peak plants.

That's about the delay in releasing data concerning retirement home deaths. Not Cuomo's directive to send Covid patients back to retirement homes. A directive that clearly stated the homes should not take in covid patients if they could not care for them safely.
